The Sheptytsky Institute of Eastern Christian Studies is funding three (3) non-resident Ukrainian Fellows working on research topics in Eastern Christian history, liturgy, spirituality or theology.
This Fellowship is open to Ukrainian faculty or Ukrainian advanced PhD students (with approved thesis proposals). Under “Ukrainian” we understand individuals who lived/worked in Ukraine and/or had primary affiliation with a Ukrainian institution at the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, including Crimea. Preference will be given to applicants who are currently in Ukraine and/or intend to remain in Ukraine.
Successful applicants will receive a CDN $2,500 honorarium for their participation as well as access to the University of Toronto Library system. Each recipient will present the fruits of their research in a public virtual lecture either in Fall 2024 or Winter 2025.
